About me
I received my MA in Economic and Social History from VU University in 2008. My thesis focused on the impact of modern economic growth on the prostitution market in Haarlem between 1850 and 1900 (see also Publications).
In addition to my work as a librarian, I am an external PhD candidate at Utrecht University. My research examines entrepreneurship in the Dutch prostitution business between 1850 and 1911. My promotor is prof. dr. Elise van Nederveen Meerkerk and co-promotor is dr. Clé Lesger (UvA). I have been interviewed on radio and TV programs, including Nieuwsweekend (NPO) and Kluizen van Brabant (Omroep Brabant).
