During exam time, the library offers, in cooperation with Facility Services, additional study places. Besides, library locations have extended opening hours. If you would like to study at the library in the evenings or during the weekends, do not forget to bring your student/employee or library card. UKB card holders have no access in the evenings and during weekends.

Boekenweek: Open Podium and University Library Ball

On Friday, 29 March, the Faculty Book Week Committee of the Faculty of Humanities, VOX-POP and the University Library of the University of Amsterdam (UvA) will be organising an Open Podium and the University Library Ball as a closing event for the Boekenweek, taking as theme 'De moeder, de vrouw' (The mother, the woman).

New and renewed open access agreements

The Dutch universities, the university libraries and publishers have made a couple of new agreements and renewed a few existing ones on open access for 2019. Take a look at the overview of these agreements.

Analysis tool for scientific output available

SciVal is a bibliometric tool that uses data from Scopus to analyze the research performance of universities, groups, individuals and even countries. As a researcher, you can use SciVal to create evaluation reports, to visualize your research performance and to benchmark against colleagues or develop collaborations.
