Biology and Biomedical Sciences
The Biology & Biomedical Sciences collection is located in the Science Park library (FNWI).
The collection is spread over several locations, of which the most important are: the Science Library, the University Library (IWO Book depot) and the Artis Library. The biology collection is ranked at the level of a research collection. The number of monographs in the field of biology within the UBA covers about 42,000 titles. The number of journal subscriptions is around 100. The book collection is traditionally composed of works from the descriptive biology such as history of biology, evolution, zoology, botany, taxonomy, tropical ecology, paleoecology, biogeography, population biology. The experimental biology directions (molecular biology, neurobiology, histology, cell biology, etc.) depend for their information largely on the digital journal collection. Biology is classified under the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) QH, QK, QL, QM QP, and QR.
