Access policy
The Book Depot (IWO) is closed stacks. There is no open shelving, so it is not possible to walk along the book cases to browse the books and take out a publication for loan. All publications in the Book Depot can be found via CataloguePlus, just like the rest of the collection. Almost all types of material can be requested by means of a Student or Staff ID card or a Library card. When entering a request, indicate at which library you wish to collect the item. The Book Depot itself is not a collection point.
There is, however, one exception: newspapers, large format publications, and large quantities of material must be consulted exclusively in the reading room of the Books Depot and will not be sent to other libraries. Here, too, you must have a UvA or HvA Student or Staff ID card, library card or a week pass. Requests to consult works which have been handed in after 15:30, will only be dealt with the next work day.
