Music scores from the UvA collection can be found in the UvA CataloguePlus thus:

• Select Advanced Search
• Select Material Type: Musical Score
• In the search window on top select an appropriate search key and enter your search term.

If you are looking for music for a particular instrument, use the search key Words from title. Note language variations:
piano OR klavier

If you are looking for a specific combination of instruments, use Words from title, and be aware of language variations, search e.g.
“string quartet?” OR “quatuor? a cordes” OR streichquartet?. The question mark is added to search both for string quartet and string quartets, etc.

Sheet music from composers from the 20th century is available in the collections of the Muziek Centrum Nederland. As soon as you type your search terms in CataloguePlus, choose UvA books+ and in the next drop-down menu Muziek Centrum Nederland. For sheet music that is not in the collections of the UvA library or Muziekcentrum Nederland, consult WorldCat Discovery. Choose Advanced Search, choose Author or Title, enter your search terms, and limit the results to Format, Show more, Musical Score.

If you are a student or employee at Musicology, you can also go to the library of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam. Search the catalog of the library of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam as follows: enter your search terms and limit the search results to Material type, Show more, Sheet music.
