Research data

More and more often, funders will have requirements regarding the storage and availability of research data. Within Religious Studies, data can have various forms and vary from a bibliography to transcripts of interviews and audiovisual materials.

Almost all funders ask an applicant to fill in a research data paragraph. Herein, you explain which research data you expect to collect, where you will store your data and whether you will make (part of) your data (partly) publicly available.

Planning, storing and sharing research data

You can find all information about planning, storing and sharing your research data on the RDM website. It is also recommended to consult the Research Data Management Protocol of the Faculty of Humanities.

UvA/AUAS figshare

Since September 2018, all UvA and AUAS researchers have access to UvA/AUAS figshare: a system for safely storing, sharing and publishing research data.

Finding Religious Studies data sets

Research data can be stored in data archives. These repositories can be used in two ways: to store your own research data and to find data from research done by other scientists.

The Dutch repository NARCIS offers access to thousands of scientific data sets and e-publications in the Netherlands. For social scientific data you can consult the Association of Religion Data Archives. Other foreign repositories can be found through Re3data.org (Humanities and Interdisciplinary).
