The Toonkunst collection, from the Maatschappij tot Bevordering der Toonkunst (Society for the Advancement of Music), contains sheet music (in print and manuscript), songbooks and music literature from 1500-1955, with the focus on the period from 1700-1900. Part is accessible via the CataloguePlus, the rest can only be found via PiCarta at the moment. In PiCarta, click ‘available at’. If the title is available at the Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam with the signature Toonkunst WNU, it is probably part of the Toonkunst collection. In that case, please contact the curator Simon Groot: s.h.groot@uva.nl, tel. 020 525 2549. If a title cannot be found in PiCarta, but you suspect it may be part of the Toonkunst collection, you can also contact Simon Groot.
