The Library has recently established a link between the Canvas digital learning environment and the library catalogue CataloguePlus. As a result, lecturers no longer have to manually copy and paste information from one system to another. CataloguePlus and the database selector now feature in the content editor of Canvas in the external tools list, which also includes YouTube.
The link between Canvas and the library systems gives lecturers easy access to millions of books and articles, and more than 400 databases. IAs a secondary benefit, lecturers don’t have to worry about potential copyright on any literature that they include in their courses with this system. The literature is displayed in Canvas through links and with clear acknowledgement of the source. And courses always contain up-to-date information, because in the event of updates, the references in Canvas are updated.
