The exam period is a busy time. Therefore, the Library offers extra study spaces and extended opening hours. During this period, various lecture rooms are available for studying and the Posthoornkerk will be used as a study location as well.

For extended opening hours of the University Library Singel, the P.C. Hoofthuis Library, the Library Learning Centre (REC-H) and the Science Park Library, see the study spaces overview on the Library's webpage and keep an eye on the information screens on campus for extra study places.

Extra opening hours | weekend of 25 and 26 June

  • Besides UB Singel, Library Learning Centre REC H and the Science Park Library are also open
  • In REC E, lecture rooms E0.09 and 0.22 will be available as study rooms. 
  • For extra available halls at Science Park, see Datanose. For more information please ask your study association or go to the library desk.

Studying in the silence of a church 

If you are looking for a special place to study, you can visit the Posthoornkerk from Saturday 25 to Wednesday 29 June. From 09.00 - 19.00 hrs, 70 study study spaces will be available. There is free coffee, tea and wifi. Reservations are necessary. Book a study space via Eventbrite

Tightened access policy

During exam periods a restricted access policy applies. Please note that the Library is only accessible with a valid UvA student or staff card. External borrowers can only pick-up or return books; it is not possible to use the study spaces. 

Online Study Space (OSS)

The online study environment of the Library is open 24/7. You can start your own study session and invite fellow students, or check who is studying online at that moment. Study sessions are held on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 09.00 - 18.00 hrs and are guided by the Library's student staff.
