A stricter access policy applies during exam periods. Please note that the Library is only accessible with a valid UvA student or staff card. External borrowers can only pick up or return books; it is not possible to use study places.

University Library Singel: the study spaces are open longer. Building section A and B are open daily until 1 am and building section C/E (humanities collections and small study rooms) until 22:00. Service and Collection is open every day as usual, from 09:00 – 20:00.
PC Hoofthuis: from Monday to Thursday, the Library and the Learning Centre are open until 22:00, Friday until 18:00. This location will be closed on Thursday, 26 May and Friday, 27 May due to the Ascension Day and the collective day off.
Library Learning Center (REC H): During the exam period, REC-H is open longer, Monday to Friday from 08:00 - 22:00. From 26 to 29 May, the library desk (Service & Collection) is open longer from 09:00 – 20:00. Normal opening hours apply on other days.
Please note: REC-A1 remains open during Ascension Day (26 May) and the collective day off (27 May).
On the weekend of 28 and 29 May: REC-H is open from 09:00 - 22:00. Learning Space (REC-A1) is open from 08:00 – 18:00. Please note: the entrance is at 164 Nieuwe Achtergracht. Lecture rooms E0.09 and 0.22 are available as study spaces in building REC E.
During the exam period, the study places are available on weekdays from 09:00 – 22:00, except on Thursday, 26 May and Friday, 27 May, when the closing time is 20:00. On weekends the opening hours are from 09:00 - 20:00. Please note, the library desk is closed from 26 to 29 May.

Anyone looking for a special place to study can visit the Posthoornkerk from Monday 30 May to Thursday 2 June. 70 study places are available from 09:00 - 19:00. There is free coffee, tea and WiFi.
Reservations are required. Reserve a study place via Eventbrite.
The Library’s Online Study Space (OSS) is open 24/7. You can start your own study session and invite fellow students to it, or see who is currently studying online.
On Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays there are study sessions supervised by student employees of the Library from 09:00 - 18:00.
In the Library Mobile app you will also find the current opening hours and you can read where you can find one of the more than 4500 study places in the Library. You can also see if a study place with a PC is available.
