On 21 and 22 April there’s a workshop for UvA researchers who want to get acquainted with computer programming. The course takes two full working days and will be organized by the Library.

During this course the following subjects will be covered:

  • Data organization in spreadsheets
  • Data analysis with Python
  • Data visualization with Python

We will use an ecological dataset as an example. No prior knowledge of programming or ecology is required.

The Carpentries is a worldwide organization of researchers, programmers and knowledge workers who teach their colleagues data and software skills in a low threshold way.

Maximum number of participants: 22.

Enrollment is possible until Sunday 10 April. In case of more than 22 applicants, a selection is made based on background and motivation. No later than 13 April you will receive a message on whether your participation is final.
