Electronic publishing
Pure is the research information management system of the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Pure is intended for UvA researchers, but also for policy staff, managers, support staff and secretarial staff.
Researchers are expected to register their research output (e.g. publication, media appearance, award) in Pure.
Research output registered in Pure is made visible via the UvA staff profile pages. Registered publications and datasets are also visible and discoverable via UvA-DARE, the institutional repository. In addition, Pure is used for reporting on research results, for example for the annual report, and for internal and external review reports of faculties and institutes, as well as for UvAdata.
UvA-DARE is the Digital Academic REpository of the University of Amsterdam. UvA-DARE makes research output (from Pure) visible.
The website contains bibliographic information on research output such as articles, PhD theses, reports and book chapters. Open access publications can be downloaded directly via UvA-DARE. Research output can be searched in various ways, for example by author, type, year or faculty.
UvA researchers publish approximately 8,500 (academic) publications per year. UvA-DARE increases the visibility of research results. Publications are discoverable via Google (Scholar) and on international platforms such as OpenAIRE and OpenAlex.
