The Library aims to make the collections and services more open, easier to use and more accessible for the UvA community. An app is one of the answers for users looking for up-to-date library information while they are on the go.

With this in mind, the Library used the Ex Libris Mobile app platform as a basis for its own app which can meet the specifics needs of UvA students and staff.

One of the app’s features is that you only have to log in once with your UvAnetID. The services you access from the app will recognize you are already authenticated.

Study spaces at your fingertips

Via de app, you will access the current opening times and where to find one of the more 4,500 study spaces offered by the Library.  If you need a study space with a PC, you will be able to check the availability for the specific time you require.

You can also book a meeting room for group work via de app, thanks to the connection with the reservation system, Mapiq.

Book pick-up and notifications

Once you have downloaded the Library Mobile app on your device, you will automatically have access to your CataloguePlus account. The app will notify you when a book you requested is ready to be picked up.

Forgetting the return date of your loans and being overdue can be avoided if you activate the notifications. The app will keep you up-to-date on the status of your loans and remind you when you need to return your books.

Ask the Library

From the Mobile App, you can write a WhatsApp message to the Library or make a phone call.
