UvA researchers that are registered in ORCID have a chance to win great prizes. On Monday 22 November the first drawing of the UvA-wide ORCID lottery will take place. No ORCID iD yet? Register now.

All researchers within the University of Amsterdam are invited to participate in the ORCID lottery. There is only one condition: having an ORCID iD. Your ORCID iD number is also your ticket for participating in the lottery.

Draw and results 

The ORCID lottery is organised by the Library. The first draws will take place on Monday 22 November 2021. On that day, the Library will announce the winners on its website. The winners will also receive a an email from the Library. No correspondence about the results will be entered into. 

The prizes are:  

  • First place: Samsung Galaxy Tab 7 tablet
  • Second place: JBL LIVE 650BTNC Black headphone 
  • Third place: Professional portrait photo by photographer Monique Kooijmans

The next lottery drawing will be on Tuesday 22 February 2022.

No ORCID iD yet?  

Go to the ORCID website, register, activate and link your account in three easy steps, and you’re ready to use your ORCID iD.  

Do not forget to link your ORCID iD to your Pure account. To do this, go to Pure > Personal overview > Edit profile. Now, you only need to click on ‘Create or connect your ORCID iD’ and your account will be ready and up-to-date.    

What exactly is ORCID?  

ORCID stands for Open Researcher and Contributor iD. It is a persistent digital identifier to distinguish researchers. It connects researchers with their research activities throughout their career. ORCID is supported by thousands of institutions, publishers and other organisations involved in research. It has become an important part of the global research infrastructure.
