What is happening in the next few weeks?

We are currently working on the foundation piles for both the outside and the inside of the Tweede Chirurgische Kliniek. In addition, we have started driving the sheet pile walls. The sheet piling facilities and auxiliary crane were successfully delivered at the start of this week. We are starting to drive the sheet pile wall at the old car park near Nieuwe Doelenstraat and will move towards Vendelstraat over the weeks ahead.

Work on Saturday, 21 and Saturday, 28 September

The delivery and removal of equipment is no longer possible as a result of starting to drive the sheet pile wall at Binnengasthuisstraat. On Saturday, 21 September, we will therefore have to work with a single drilling rig midway along Vendelstraat. On this day, we will start at around 09:00 and expect to be finished at around 17:00. No work will be carried out apart from the foundation piles. We will also have to work on Saturday, 28 September. The two silos on the building site will be moved from the site to the enclosed garden in order to create space for Liander. We expect this work to start at 09:00 and to cause a minimum of inconvenience.

Before we can drive the sheet pile walls, there is a brief period during which pedestrians will be stopped for safety reasons by traffic officers for a short time near where the work is taking place. In other words, if the work is taking place near your house, there will be a brief period when you will be unable to enter or leave your house. We will cordon the access to your entrance with tape. What should you do if you see this tape? You are requested to remain inside. If you are outside, our traffic officer will stop you for a brief period until you can once again enter your house. This process should take about a minute.

Advance notice: short interruption of the power supply for Liander's activities

Liander currently has a transformer station at Tweede Chirurgische Kliniek. This station provides electricity to the building, the building site and the surrounding district. As the station is standing in the way of the building work, two temporary transformer stations will be placed near the grout silos on the building site. Most of the work for this installation will take place on the building site between Monday, 23 September and Friday, 8 November. We will not work on these transformer stations continuously during these weeks.

Because the new transformer stations are adjacent to the construction fence, this fence will be moved a short distance outwards – near building BG3 – in the week of Monday, 30 September and the week of Monday, 7 October. Once the transformer stations are in place and the cables have been connected, the fence will be moved back again. The pedestrian/cycle route and the emergency route will be unaffected. This work will not affect pedestrian/cycle traffic except on Monday, 28 October.

On this day, the connection for the transformer stations will be constructed in the pavement at Binnengasthuisstraat. This process will take around half a day. Your house will be accessible but from one side only. The power supply to the district will also be transferred from the old to the new station on this day. Liander will inform you about the exact time and duration of the power outage in the days prior to the interruption of the power supply.
