In the period from Thursday 24 to Saturday 26 September miscellaneous work will be carried out on the Roeterseiland Campus. This includes maintenance on the ground-source heat pump for the thermal energy storage system in Building J/K, and moving furniture to and from Building B/C.

Work on the thermal energy storage system

On Thursday 24 September technicians from De Ruiter will be carrying out maintenance on the ground-source heat pump for the thermal energy storage system. The pump is located adjacent to the car park to the east of Building J/K on Valckenierstraat. Work will start at 7:00 and continue throughout the day, running over into Friday 25 September if necessary. This will only become clear on Thursday afternoon and means that work could commence at 7:00 on two days. No work will take place in the evenings.

How will this affect you?

There will be a crane in the car park and some of the work on the pump will also take place in the car park. This means that only a limited number of car parking spaces will be available. The crane is diesel-operated so there may be some noise nuisance.

Moving furniture

Between 16:00 and 22:00 on Friday 25 September furniture will be moved out of Buildings B and C. During the morning of Saturday 26 September new furniture will be moved in to Building B/C. On each day the moving will be carried out in a single operation. The removal lorries will park at the deliveries entrance on Valckenierstraat, on the UvA ring road. Work on Saturday will commence at 8:00.
