The restoration of the façade of the building situated on Turfdraagsterpad (BG2) is proceeding on schedule. Work on the façade facing Turfdraagsterpad is almost complete and the scaffolding will soon be removed.

Clearing away the scaffolding

On Thursday, 18 December the scaffolding fabric will be removed and loose materials, such as wood and platforms, will be cleared up on the scaffolding. This building waste will be removed the same day. Unfortunately, it will not be possible to do this within the applicable time slot, between 07:00 and 11:00. The container of building waste will therefore be removed outside the time slot on that day.

Dismantling the scaffolding

On Friday, 19 December the building contractor will start to dismantle the scaffolding on the side of the building facing Turfdraagsterpad. The scaffolding will be removed before Christmas. The dismantling activities will cause some noise and may be disruptive.   There is not enough space on the building site to store the scaffolding poles. To create more space, the building contractor will move a few of the construction fences facing Turfdraagsterpad forward a little ways temporarily. This situation will last from 22 through 24 December. During this period, some of the bike racks will be inaccessible.

Further façade restoration

In the new year, the building contractor will continue restoring the façades on the Grimburgwal side and at the front and back of the building. This work is expected to be finished in the first half of February, at which point the remaining scaffolding can be removed.
