Reaction of the UvA to the report of the external committee on scientific integrity

Both the Volkskrant and the NRC Handelsblad reported this morning on the report of the external ad hoc committee set up by the UvA to investigate possible violations of the rules of scientific integrity in the Dies speeches and the dissertation of former rector magnificus Dymph van den Boom.

The final report was presented to the Executive Board yesterday. On Wednesday, 18 December, the Board intended to discuss the results of the report with Professor van den Boom. However, she chose to respond via the media in advance. 

In the coming days, the Board will study the report and talk to the chairperson of the external committee and to Professor van den Boom herself. Only then will a position be taken.
