It was the first time that the UvA's financial policy was explained this way, in line with the UvA's policy of providing financial information as transparently and clearly as possible. Anyone interested was welcome to sign up for the lecture beforehand; about 80 employees and students did so. An interpreter was present for the benefit of non-Dutch speakers.

In his lecture, Jan Lintsen elaborated on the UvA's governance model, explained how internal and external funding works and looked at a few financial questions and the draft budget for 2020.
