In the midterm review of the Strategic Plan, the UvA announced that it will raise its ambitions with regard to sustainability: 'The University wishes to take on a pioneering role and adopt a clear and ambitious vision concerning sustainability. This includes further integrating sustainability concepts into all aspects and layers of the UvA.'

To work on this ambition, we will design a comprehensive sustainability programme (across education, research, impact and infrastructure) with a clear and ambitious vision, shared goals and concrete strategies.

The programme will be created in dialogue with the academic community. The dialogue will kick off with three roundtable sessions in June in which staff and students will share ideas and discuss the best ways the move forward on the theme sustainability in research, education and operations.

The following three topics will be discussed in separate roundtable sessions:

  • 5 June: Sustainability in research (Read a short report on the meeting.)
  • 19 June: Sustainability in operations
  • 26 June: Sustainability in education

Each session is from 8:00 to 9:45 and takes place at CREA, Nieuwe Achtergracht 170, Amsterdam. A maximum of 15 people per session can register and only for one session per person. In case that the number of registrations exceeds the available places, you will be informed.
