From April onwards, all researchers at UvA and AUAS can securely store and share their data in AMS based on Figshare.
AMS is also intended for publishing and archiving research data. Each dataset is assigned a unique identifier to make it easier to refer to it. In close cooperation with ICTS and representatives from the faculties, the Library is now putting the final touches to the implementation of this user-friendly system. All faculties will get their own group page.
The system is not only the answer to an urgent request from researchers. Funders, such as NWO, also have requirements regarding the availability of data. AMS/Figshare meets the UvA and AUAS guidelines for research data management. It will be part of the standard service of the Library and is based on Figshare for Institutions, which is already used by a number of universities and research organisations.
