Loeb Classical Library contains Greek and Latin literary works with both the original text and their English translation. This year the publisher brought out an online edition to which the Library has taken out a subscription.
The digital Loeb, named after the banker and classics scholar James Loeb (1867-1933), is a photomechanical reproduction of the printed volumes.
In 1912 the first twenty volumes appeared. By now volume 521 has been published. Twice a year revised or newly published titles are added. The works can be found by author or title, an extensive ‘using the library’ provides support to refine your queries.
Loeb Classical Library is freely available to UvA students and staff on PCs in UvA buildings, elsewhere you must log in with your UvAnetID.
