    The Earth Sciences collection is located in the Science Park library (FNWI).

  • Collection

    Description

    Total size of the collection: approximately 6,000 titles across the University Library, Special Collections and the Science Library. The collection Physical Geography / Earth Science from the Science Library offers students the opportunity to conduct a basic study in the earth sciences. Next, there is the specialist literature available in the cors collection fields. Earth Sciences is classified under the Library of Congress Classification (LCC) QE. Library of Science owns several atlases and topographic (1: 25,000) soil, geomorphological and geological maps.

    Core collection fields

    Focal points of the collection are:

    •      Geomorphology (erosion, remote sensing, geomorphological risk areas, glaciology);
    •      Soil Science (soil chemistry, soil physics, soil geography, land evaluation);
    •      Hydrology (surface water, groundwater);
    •      Geo-ecology;
    •      Landscape ecology (abiotic aspects of landscape systems, dune landscapes (Netherlands), polluted landscapes (Netherlands, Czech Republic), forest landscapes (Europe, tropics). A collection for education.
