New Amsterdam CRIS: finding a successor to Metis

UvA is collaborating with four other institutions for higher education

26 May 2015

UvA is collaborating with AMC, VU, VUmc and HvA on the choice and implementation of a new research information system. Recently, a joint tender has been published.

For the last few years UvA has been using (Personal) Metis as a research information system. The aim is to replace this system during 2016.

Our point of departure for the new current research information system, CRIS for short, is that researchers need to do as little as possible to manage their publications. On the one hand by an improved automated input of publication data from databases such as Web of Science, on the other by greater user-friendliness.

Besides this, the system must also have other improvements:

  • it must be easier for researchers to create and publish a list of their own publications
  • it must allow to report on research that is not restricted to one institution only
