The University Library of the Universiteit van Amsterdam (UvA) has concluded license contracts with publishers and information providers for the use of electronic journals and databases. These contracts detail the conditions under which the licensed material can be used.

Conditions

• Access to electronic material is restricted to UvA staff and students and to visitors of UvA libraries.
• Access is via network access, i.e. workstations registered within the IP domains of UvA.
• It is the user’s responsibility to ensure that licensed material is used for scientific and/or personal noncommerical purposes only.
• It is not permitted to systematically download, disseminate, print or save substantial parts of licensed material.

Violations of these conditions may result in publishers’ and information providers’ denying access to their electronic material to individual users or even to the whole of UvA.
